Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) monitor library budget and prepare financial reports on general expenses, equipment and software;
(b) manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, direct purchase and petty cash;
(c) liaise with suppliers and handle enquiries regarding material purchase;
(d) coordinate book receiving and invoicing, liaise with vendors regarding book selection and delivery issues, and liaise on book and journal binding issues;
(e) organise holding check and book selection;
(f) handle replacement orders for billed/missing items;
(g) oversee maintenance, disposal and transfer of Library’s equipment and furniture and maintain inventory record;
(h) coordinate general administration and supervise daily operation of the team; and
(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the University Librarian or her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree, or a recognised Certificate or Diploma or an equivalent qualification plus not less than three years of relevant experience, or five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards) and Mathematics, or a combination of results in five HKDSE subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects/"Attained" in Applied Learning subjects/Grade E in Other Language subjects, and the five subjects must include English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics plus not less than eight years of relevant experience;
(b) preferably have operational and supervisory experience in an academic library setting;
(c) be familiar with integrated library systems (such as Ex Libris Alma) and financial systems (such as Oracle Financials), which are highly desirable;
(d) have the qualities of a good team player with a strong sense of responsibility and a proactive mindset;
(e) have good supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills; and
(f) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
