Assistant Officer (Ref. 260722003-IE)
 
Duties
 
The appointee will be required to:
 
(a) assist in expense payment, petty cash and daily procurement duties such as raising purchase requisitions, order processing, invitations to tender, sourcing of goods and services, and quotation analyses;
 
(b) provide administrative and logistic support to the recruitment and payroll of research personnel, part-time staff and student assistants, and handle sensitive and confidential matters in a professional manner;
 
(c) compile and prepare reports and proposals, maintain records of documentation and database, and organise filing systems;
 
(d) provide administrative support to the General Office and School, coordinate meetings and events, and liaise with internal and external parties; and
 
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of School or her delegates.
   
Qualifications
 
Applicants should:
 
(a) have a recognised degree and preferably with three years of relevant working experience;
  
(b) be able to communicate in both written and spoken English and Chinese and preferably Putonghua;
 
(c) have good computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing;
 
(d) have good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills; and
 
(e) have a high level of self-motivation and the ability to complete tasks independently.
 
Preference will be given to those with working experience in tertiary institution.
 
Conditions of Service
 
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
