Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) advise on legal, regulatory and compliance matters to proactively support the operations and developments of the University;
(b) assist the Head, Legal, Risk and Compliance, to strengthen the risk management framework of the institution, design the enterprise risk management matrix, and integrate governance, strategy and risk-management principles;
(c) collaborate with members of the unit to develop and deliver compliance training programmes on institutional policy and procedures, legal and regulatory regime;
(d) manage and respond to regulators, government bodies and other stakeholders in relation to legal and regulatory compliance issues;
(e) oversee the contract management strategy, including but not limited to structuring and handling of highly complex or non-standard agreements; creating and updating standard templates to streamline the review process;
(f) manage external lawyers and supervise subordinates; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Vice President (Administration and Development) or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) be a Hong Kong qualified lawyer with not less than fifteen years of post-qualification experience in law firms or in-house legal departments of large organisations;
(b) have an extensive expertise in compliance risk and internal control frameworks, as well as enterprise risk management matrix;
(c) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including fluency in Cantonese and Putonghua;
(d) be a team player with excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills; and
(e) have strong initiative, leadership and extensive experience in handling complex matters.
Preference will be given to those with the Chinese Mainland legal qualifications or Greater Bay Area lawyer qualifications, governance, risk and compliance certification.

Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
