WATCH COSTING SPECIALIST / COSTING MANAGER – US watch trading co (Lai Chi Kok)

JOB DESCRIPTION :

• Review and control the cost of watch components for ODM and OEM projects.

• Analyse supplier quotations and cost breakdowns in detail.

• Check prices for watch cases, movements, dials, hands, crystals, straps, bracelets, buckles, packaging, and other accessories.

• Review component specifications, materials, construction, and production methods.

• Assess whether supplier prices are reasonable and competitive.

• Compare quotations from different factories and suppliers on a like-for-like basis.

• Identify cost differences, unclear charges, and cost-saving opportunities.

• Challenge unclear, unreasonable, or additional charges from suppliers.

• Negotiate competitive component prices, tooling charges, sample fees, minimum order quantities, and commercial terms.

• Clarify quotation assumptions, exclusions, and extra charges with factories.

• Assess how order quantity, materials, specifications, packaging, and development requirements affect the final cost.

• Calculate product cost, project-related costs, company margin, and customer selling price.

• Ensure quotations protect the company’s profit and commercial interests.

• Check sales-team quotations to factories for accuracy, consistency, and profitability.

• Support the sales team in preparing accurate, competitive, and profitable quotations.

• Train the sales team on component costs, supplier quotations, margins, and pricing structures.

• Maintain costing records, quotation files, supplier price comparisons, and historical pricing data.

• Monitor changes in supplier prices and watch component costs.

IDEAL CANDIDATE :

• Minimum 5 years’ solid experience in the watch industry.

• Very strong cost knowledge of watch components.

• In-depth understanding of the cost structure of cases, movements, dials, hands, crystals, straps, bracelets, buckles, packaging, and other accessories.

• Able to review component specifications, materials, construction, and production methods.

• Able to judge whether supplier prices are reasonable.

• Strong understanding of margins, costing methods, and pricing structures.

• Solid experience in costing, quotation preparation, and margin calculation.

• Able to analyse supplier quotations and identify cost differences.

• Commercially minded, detail-oriented, and strong in numbers.

• Able to protect profit margins and the company’s commercial interests.

• Good written and spoken English; Mandarin is an advantage.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard office applications.
