The Position
The University is looking for a person of high caliber with strong academic credentials, dynamic leadership and academic administration experience to lead the School of Science and Technology.
The School of Science and Technology plays a pivotal role in advancing science education, technological innovation and applied research in Hong Kong and beyond. With signature programmes spanning Electronic Engineering, Robotics, Building Services Engineering, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Computer Science, Data Science, Life Sciences and Environmental Science, the School nurtures future-ready talent equipped to meet the evolving needs of industry and society. Through its Institute for Research in Innovation, Technology and Sustainability, the School drives impactful applied research that addresses real-world challenges and delivers tangible benefits to the community. Its strategic focus on Smart City and Environmental Science underscores a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability and practical solutions for a rapidly changing world.
To attract and support high-calibre research talent, the School offers generous scholarships to outstanding candidates pursuing Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Over the years, the School has established a strong track record in securing external research funding from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, achieving notable results among self-financing institutions in Hong Kong in both total funding awarded and number of funded projects. Supported by modern teaching facilities, well-equipped laboratories in Hong Kong, and the expanding research infrastructure of the HKMU Shenzhen Research Institute, the School is well positioned to further advance education, research, and innovation for meaningful societal impact.
The appointee shall be responsible to the President via the Provost for the overall management of the School. He/she shall provide academic leadership in the direction, development and operation of the School as well as driving excellence in teaching and research and enhancing student success. He/she shall be responsible for effective management of the School as well as participating in the administration and strategic planning towards advancing the University’s mission and vision.

Remuneration Package
An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, a composite cash / housing allowance, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
