Assistant Computer Officer (Software Development) (Post B)

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; (ii) at least 3 years’ work experience in web application development; (iii) substantial knowledge of object-oriented programming and web development technologies, e.g. HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Java, AJAX and MySQL; (iv) familiarity with the use of Framework and IDE, such as PHPStorm, Lararel and AngularJS; (v) good interpersonal and communication skills; (vi) strong initiative and team spirit; (vii) a good command of both Chinese and English; and (viii) a successful track record of web/mobile application development. Experience in developing applications using API will be advantageous.
The appointee will work for the ‘Career and Life Adventure Planning for Youth Project (CLAP for Youth @ JC)’ in the Faculty of Education, supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
Duties include (a) working with IT team members to design and build the infrastructure for the e-education platform and resources; (b) undertaking the programming, implementation and maintenance of website and application system; (c) making sound technological decisions and providing technical advice for engineers in the team; and (d) assisting in key aspects of the Project, including but not limited to project implementation, project report development, publicity and dissemination events. Appointment will be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
