Building Services Inspector (Ref. 16112502-E3) 

Duties 

The appointee will assist in technical and site matters for alteration, addition and improvement projects.  He/She will be required to: 

(a)  assist in the supervision of building services works on-site and supervise site supporting staff; 

(b)  monitor labour resources, works progress and defects rectification works, materials and equipment used on-site; 

(c)   inspect and witness the testing and commissioning of building services installations; 

(d)  check site measurements of building services works, payments claimed by contractors, building services operation and maintenance manuals as well as as-fitted drawings submitted by various contractors; 

(e)   conduct site survey of existing building services installations during the construction stage and submit proposals for addition, alteration or repair works; 

(f)   liaise and coordinate with contractors, utility companies, clients and government departments on site matters; 

(g)  maintain site records, update site record books and submit monthly reports as necessary; and 

(h)  perform work outside office hours during weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays when required. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should have:

(a)  a recognised higher diploma/higher certificate in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with a recognised degree being an advantage; 

(b)  at least ten years' relevant experience including at least six years' working experience at Assistant Building Services Inspector or equivalent level; 

(c)  a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and 

(d)  good interpersonal and presentation skills.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
