Major Duties:

(a) To assist the senior management in promoting the Institute internationally; building international profile for the Institute through visits, media coverage, events and conferences;

(b) To develop strategic alliances and manage institutional partnerships and collaborations with recognized international, regional and local academic institutions;

(c) To direct international opportunities for students, oversee the delivery of both inbound and outbound academic exchange programmes, and provide on-going coordination and communication with the overseas academic institutions and scholarship donors;

(d) To engage international, regional and local professional organizations in conducting design-related activities and events, as well as establishing and promoting the applied design-research programmes and participatory projects; and

(e) To source funding for conducting joint design-research and other student-focused activities.

 

Requirements:

(a) A recognized degree or equivalent, preferably in international studies, marketing, social sciences or related discipline; a postgraduate degree is also preferred;

(b) At least 5 years’ relevant experience in international networking with design-oriented professional organizations, industry and academic institutions at an appropriate level of responsibility;

(c) Strong experience in marketing, promotion and social media engagement at an international level, and at an appropriate level of responsibility;

(d) Good understanding of the creative industries and education market in Hong Kong; preferably in design education;

(e) Strong administrative, interpersonal, communication and team-building skills;

(f) Good presentation skills with a high level of proficiency in both English and Chinese including Putonghua;

(g) Abilities to be self-motivated and to motivate across functional teams; and

(h) Good aesthetic sense, initiative, flexible and a good team player.

 

Notes:

(1) The post is in the rank of “Senior Lecturer”.

(2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written assessment in English.

(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and travel outside Hong Kong.
