The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, working with more than 150 ophthalmologists and visual scientists in Hong Kong and mainland China, is committed to advancing patient service, research, training and education to the highest possible standard in all major areas of ophthalmology and visual sciences. We have a strong track record and profile in international ophthalmology, and are dedicated to worthwhile community programs and public education projects. The Department, always “in search of excellence”, is highly committed to supporting career developments of all staff members. We are looking for an appointment in the following position to further strengthen our research from applicants who are self-motivated, hardworking, honest, and with a strong sense of responsibility. Previous research experience in ophthalmology or visual sciences is desirable but not mandatory. The appointee will be involved in both team and independent research.
Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree; (ii) proficiency in English; (iii) the ability to work independently; and (iv) keen interest in research work in the field of ophthalmology and visual sciences. Preference will be given to those applicants who have experience in at least one of the following areas (a) primary cell culture, (b) confocal microscopy, (c) immunohistochemistry, (d) animal handling and (e) molecular biology.
Appointments will initially be made on one or two-year contract (with contract-end gratuity for a two-year contract) commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
