CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT OFFICE 

Senior Project Officer (Ref. 16112306-IE) 

Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a)     assist in the planning and implementation of capital projects, alterations and additions works; 

(b)     prepare sketches, work drawings, models and other technical details related to project works; 

(c)      conduct site visits and monitor the progress, including the examination of workmanship and checking of defects; 

(d)     assist in monitoring the safety of the site, including the identification of hazards and risks assessment at construction site, and to advise the Office to take precautions in existing control and avoid mishaps; 

(e)     co-ordinate the regular Departmental Health & Safety Committee Meeting within the Office; 

(f)      liaise and coordinate with architectural support team and other supporting teams on building services and contract management and coordinate with user departments to facilitate the implementation of project works; 

(g)    prepare cost estimation, work orders and tender documents; 

(h)    vet consultant’s design, contractor’s submission and bills payment; 

(i)      update the record of drawings and assist in administering the drawing management system; and 

(j)     perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Campus Development Office or his delegates. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should have: 

(a)      a recognised degree in Architectural/Building/Construction related disciplines plus at least five years of relevant experience in building projects OR a recognised diploma plus at least eight years of relevant experience; 

(b)    knowledge of AutoCAD; 

(c)    the ability to work independently; and 

(d)   a good command of both written and spoken English. 

Preference will be given to those with professional qualifications and work experience in consulting firms.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
