The Competition Commission (Commission) is an independent statutory body tasked with enforcing competition law in Hong Kong. The Commission is committed to promoting a competitive environment in Hong Kong that is conducive to free flow of trade, efficiency, and innovation that brings more choices and better quality and prices of goods and services to consumers. The Commission is established under the Competition Ordinance (Cap.619) (Ordinance), which was enacted in June 2012. Since the full commencement of the Ordinance, the Commission has been active in handling a significant volume of complaints and inquiries, investigating anti-competitive conduct, and resolving alleged contraventions by bringing legal proceedings before the Competition Tribunal (Tribunal) and other administrative methods. The other functions of the Commission include handling applications relating to exclusions and exemptions, advising the Government on competition matters, carrying out market studies, and conducting public education and advocacy programmes. The Commission is a rewarding, stimulating and dynamic place to work. We are looking for a competition lawyer or economist with experience at a competition enforcement agency to join the Operations Division on a temporary consultancy basis.
