About The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers

The Engineering Society of Hong Kong was founded in 1947 with the aim of bringing together engineers of different Disciplines for their common good. The Society flourished and as a result the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (the HKIE), was incorporated under the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Ordinance, Chapter 1105 of the Laws of Hong Kong in 1975. 天下間沒有做不到的事

立品忽然想起這話題不無原因，我撰寫辦公室求生手冊多年，為的不就是令大家在辦公室遇到難題時有個適當的指引？大家可有在工作上遇到不懂得做的事情？我有的，從很久之前就有，到今天也有，可能次數越來越少，但重點是有，而那種壓力是不能說笑的！我們試試從以下各方面討論一下： 1. 對於要做的事，搞清楚了目標未？事情是做給甚麼人看的 (target audience) ？有甚麼資料和數據需要掌握 (information and data) 時間性又如何 (timeline)？ 2. 有些特殊的行業資料是你沒法掌握的。（假設你老闆是不會害你的）我會去請教自己老闆，起碼請他高抬貴手指點一下，而如果 handy ，當然先垂詢信得過而老資歷的同事，再以自己的邏輯思維考證一下，憑邏輯和經驗很多時都可以幫上很大忙的。 3. 你正要被調職到一個新崗位，有些工序你完全未涉獵過，我會在崗位上物色一位下屬又或 handy的老實同事具體咁請教一下，自己再將所收集回來的資訊努力温習和思考，再虛心地向同事確認才去交功課。

沒有尊嚴的中國電影

那年應該是1992年吧，一位被公認為繪畫極出色的主筆，因為在我公司闖出名堂，總算是獲得百萬計的年利潤分紅，但我這投資者並未滿意，因為這畫家不應技止此矣，他的科幻類繪畫風格仍未在市場爆發出來，結果劉定堅做了非常瘋狂的決定，花了整整一年時間，讓對方編繪一本逾百頁的科幻漫畫，以全人手噴彩製作，配合厚銅板紙印刷，還要硬皮精莊。全香港歷史上從未有過科幻題材本土漫畫成功，雖然如此，但我堅持我的計劃，結果這本創刋號創造了歷史，在書展期間開售，瘋狂的讀者把玻璃大門推倒了，我公司的攤位也被人群推倒了5次，最終大會破天荒宣告禁止我這漫畫在場館出售，呵…，的而且確是天下奇聞，竟因為太多讀者搶購而被禁止出售，結果全香港中、英文報紙，還有台灣、日本的傳媒都追訪我問個究竟，那期創刋號我光在香港賺了2百萬，那是22年前啊。這漫畫後來在法國出版了八版法語版，在日本，一個集團跟我談版權，這集團有幾個投資方，在開會的時候董事經理都來了，他們包括Bandai、JAL等等大企業，也因此我們找到《高達》的原作畫家安彥良和為日語版寫序，他在書上寫的話跟我見面時內容是相同的，他說 : 日本漫畫家該小心了，因為我發現香港畫家的能力已超越了我們。

航空界奧斯卡

公司獲Skytrax「全球最佳機艙服務員」大獎，是我們航空業前線同事的光榮。一般人乘搭飛機，會稱空中服務員為空姐、空少。經過近期爆紅的電視劇衝上雲霄2 熱播，相信大家都對航空業行內術語略知一二。其實空中服務員有分機艙服務員岑麗香飾、機艙事務長沈卓盈飾、高級機艙事務長胡定欣飾、及機艙經理江美儀飾；不論級別有差異、年資不同，我們均是以客人至上。凡事做多點，小事大收穫，令客人安心滿意，能讓人維持熱誠，滿足感很大。當中一位得獎者，入行超過17年的資深機艙事務長，被訪時分享，通過一次經驗中，學會要把乘客看待成自己家人。他憶述，一次飛行中，遇過一個坐輪椅，長途跋涉從外國準備回家鄉與家人團聚的年老乘客，鬱鬱寡歡的樣子。經溝通後，得悉對方因長滿鬍子，怕家人覺得自己很骯髒後，因該長者乘客行動不便，便協助他剃鬍鬚、整潔自己。據事務長形容，當看見該乘客與家人在機場相擁而哭時，非常感動亦對自己的工作崗位更有使命感，滿足感很大。另一位得獎機艙事務長分享有次飛往杜拜，遇上一個旅行團。其中有個乘客就當地的景點等、詢問她的意見，令她知道對方會入住的酒店。下機後，她發現對方遺留了一部平板電腦⋯原本將電腦轉交失物待領處後，任務便完成。但她估計失主發現遺失平板電腦後會擔心個人資料外洩，故她離開前，致電失主乘客所居住的酒店、留下口訊。

浪漫難忘的求婚在每個女人心中都有不同的幻想、理念、體會；如果男人能花點心思佈置、部署一次求婚，過程一定能帶給所愛女人畢生難忘的回憶！分享飛機上一個浪漫特別的求婚過程~ 印尼巴里島Denpasar，陽光與海灘的旅遊勝地，亦是不少情侶結婚度蜜月的首選。記得那天登機時已見到多對穿著一式一樣的情侶裝T-shirt的韓國情侶手牽手進入機艙，心裡還真覺得他們可愛率真。關機門前，有一位樣子樸實穿T-shirt 戴眼鏡的韓國男士拿著一盒蛋糕要求代為冷藏，他用簡單的英語說是 ‘surprise’ ! 飛行時間約四個多小時，派完餐飲後，突然聽到了結他聲隨隨跟著歌聲迴旋整個機艙中，探頭一望原來是剛才那位四眼先生，他彈著結它，蹲在地上向心愛的女人唱歌，歌聲並非十分悅耳卻非常真誠；女友眉開眼笑還跟著搖頭拍手打拍子；一曲完畢，四眼先生就口袋裡取出一顆戒指求婚，內容由我們韓籍空姐翻譯：＂沒有豪華的包裝，卻有我最真摯的承諾，我在空中向天發誓，永遠愛你，求你嫁給我，一起變老，好嗎?＂⋯他的朋友們情侶T-shirt 黨亦舉起橫額 ,”Married me “banner 和先前準備的蛋糕鮮花，借用trolly推了出來；女方感動得淚流滿面，連連點頭，場面實在溫馨感人，做了空姐多年，職場虛偽假意多，工作苦樂滲半！難得見到真情，實在可喜可賀! 祝一對準新人幸福快樂⋯
