Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Director of Finance in the Finance and Enterprises Office (FEO), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess: (i) a good Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration; (ii) a professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, ACCA, CA or equivalent); (iii) at least 15 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in auditing and/or the noted areas of responsibility (of which at least 8 years at supervisory/managerial level), ideally in an advanced ERP environment, preferably with hands on experience in the design of the Chart of Accounts; (iv) analytical and logical thinking; (v) problem-solving and decision-making abilities; (vi) very good quality writing skills (for both Chinese and English materials), as well as proficiency in spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua preferably); (vii) effective communication skills, strong leadership skills, mature character and qualities of a good team player; (viii) ability to motivate and lead staff to align with the organization’s mission, vision and objective and act as a role model and inspire, support and coach staff on planning and managing the process of change.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Assistant Director of Finance is a key position in the University’s finance function with primary responsibility in financial accounting, and financial planning and resources management. The appointee shall (i) provide leadership in the financial accounting and resources management functions of the University encompassing the design of financial system features, implementation and delivery of financial services across the University; and (ii) advise the University and the senior management on all matters in relation to financial performance. Knowledge in other areas of finance operation such as annual accounts preparation, treasury management, taxation and other requirements for operations in the Mainland will be an added advantage.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
