THE JOB

 

The Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited (“HKSI”) works in close collaboration with Hong Kong Equestrian Federation ("HKEF") in achieving the jointly defined goals of elite training. Therefore, while reporting to the HKSI, the incumbent is also responsible to the HKEF to ensure the following duties are satisfactorily conducted:

 

l To work closely with HKEF on the annual training and competition plan and budgets for the HKSl­ funded programmes;

l To coordinate with HKEF to deliver the programmes funded by HKSI in accordance with HKSI governance/policies and procedures, including administrative matters related to local and overseas training and competitions, and regular reporting to HKEF and HKSI;

l To coordinate with HKEF on the performance of the HKSI Equestrian Scholarship Athletes, including athletes performance analysis, athletes compliance with the "Elite Training Grant" funding requirements and submission of athletes performance appraisal reports;

l To coordinate with HKEF and Hong Kong Equestrian Performance programme team on the progress of the senior riders, and supervise the local and overseas training and competitions for junior riders;

l To act as a bridge between HKEF and HKSI on the programmes funded by HKSI and various support services at HKSI; and

l Perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

THE REQUIREMENTS

 

l University degree or its equivalent;

l Holder of a recognized coaching qualification equivalent to Hong Kong Coach Accreditation Programme Level 3 Certificate;

l A minimum of 5 years professional coaching experience and proven record of achievement in coaching Equestrian athletes at national level or its equivalent;

l Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

l High level of computer literacy, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and ideally Access.; and

l Awareness/ knowledge of Child Protection in sport, equal opportunity issues and Prevention of Bribery Ordinance in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.
