Established by the Hong Kong Government in 1989 as a provider of distance education, OUHK began offering full-time face-to-face degree programmes in 2001. Over the years we have grown into a leader in open and flexible education in the Asia Pacific region, and our full-time face-to-face programmes for qualified secondary school leavers are on par with other established universities across Hong Kong. OUHK today is a young, dynamic, full-fledged university.

Duties
The appointee will support the operation of the Research Institute for Bilingual Learning and Teaching; assist in the organization of the attachment programme, workshops, conferences and other related activities; support the Distinguished Professors in their respective research activities during their visits and subsequent follow-up work; assist academic staff in research activities; offer administrative support to other research work of the school as well as research students and other duties as assigned.
 
Requirements
Applicants should possess a recognized bachelor’s degree; the ability to work independently; an investigative nature, good analytical and communication skills in both English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua) as well as a detail-minded work attitude. Good knowledge of statistical software (e.g. SPSS), graphics software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and experience in conducting academic research projects is preferred. Enthusiasm in academic writing will be an advantage.

Terms of Appointment

Initial appointment will be made on a full-time 15-months fixed term contract. Contract renewal thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions, if applicable.
