The Science Unit (http://www.LN.edu.hk/scienceunit) would like to invite applications for the above-mentioned post.

 

The appointee will join the research team led by Prof. Paulina Wong (https://ln.edu.hk/scienceunit/paulinawong.php) and will be working on a collaborative industry project involved GeoAI research and software development, focused on environment and health disciplines.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in IT project development and research;
  • Support the development of the Web-based applications, GIS analysis and GeoAI algorithms design;
  • Geospatial data preparation, requirement analysis, user research and usability testing;
  • Prototype design, application implementation and system integration, programming, testing, refinement and documentation;
  • Assist on promotion, business development and other research-related duties assigned

 

Requirements

  • A bachelor/master degree or above in Information Technology, Geo-informatics, Data Science and AI, Geography, Environmental Heath or other related disciplines;
  • At least 1 to 3 years of solid experience in relevant field;
  • Knowledge in GIS and experience in industrial and/or government projects preferred;
  • For post (iii), sophisticated skills and knowledge in Python, GeoAI programming and Deep Learning Tool;
  • Demonstrate interest in academic research and publishing;
  • Good command in written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Candidates with related PhD degree will be considered as Senior Research Officer

 


Salary and Benefits

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, and mandatory provident fund.

 

Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for a period of up to 18 months.
