Faculty of Social Sciences (as tenure home) and the Faculty of Arts

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in a discipline in the Social Sciences or Arts and should have teaching and research experience in one or preferably more of the following fields of specialization: urban geography, urban sociology, urban politics, urban history, and/or urban cultural and religious studies, and a strong track record of research, teaching, and obtaining research grants. Special knowledge and expertise in the culture, languages, religions, society, and politics of the borderland and frontier along the Silk-Road is an definite advantage. The appointee is expected to participate in teaching and research activities across the two faculties of arts and social sciences.
