Responsibilities

  • Support the ORM Head to provide effective operational risk governance for technology in the bank
  • Support the ORM Head in strategies and initiatives to enhance the Bank’s technology risk management framework, methodologies and oversight model
  • Monitor risks and incidents relating to technology processes, solutions or the use of technology by businesses
  • Assess and challenge risk profiles though monitoring of key risk indicators and review of control assessments, incidents and action plans
  • Perform data analytics to identify negative trends and thematic risks
  • Provide management with transparency over risks and how they can be addressed, and communicate information to the relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor the business risks with the ability to understand key technology controls and the maturity of those controls to mitigate identified risks. Identify areas for improvement to minimise technology risks for the bank
  • Act as a subject matter expert in relation to IT risks, controls and security. Develop and maintain strong business and technology relationships, becoming a Trusted Advisor
  • Provide advisories on technology risks and controls in areas such as new digital channels, new business initiatives requiring significant IT investments for the bank, Infrastructure expansion to new countries, outsourcing activities and transformational projects
  • Build a culture focused on the pro-active awareness and improvement of the risk environment

Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ of Banking experience either with IT risk, IT audit, operational risk experience, quality assurance or other risk control-related function
  • In-depth knowledge about technology risk and controls, preferably with Digital and Cyber knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to independently operate in a complex environment and challenge status quo
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-starter with initiative and strong drive to achieve quality work
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent communication skills to engage across businesses and geographies within the bank
  • Degree holder or its equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution
