航空SECURITY

維持機上安全秩序是作為空中服務員的重要任務。維持航運安全是空中服務員培訓時強調最主要的職責與任務。因為個人的失當行為會影響全機組人員及乘客安危，所以不要以為我們隨了服務餐飲招待乘客外還有受過專業的急救知識及防禦自保的方法。上個月在我任職的航空公司有一則新聞上了報紙港聞：“一個遊台內地團不滿返北京航班延誤，登機後在機上吵鬧要求補償和延誤證明，要求航空公司賠償損失，其中57歲女領隊情緖激動，登機前巳將一名地勤人員推倒，登機後又與空中服務員發生激烈口角，推拉期間弄斷一名空姐的指甲，行為過份無禮。空姐通報機長後，機長認定不讓該女領隊乘搭，機場航空警察收到通報後上機把女領隊扣上手銬押落機，其20名團員鼓譟‘要走一起走’，一同離開。可笑是強國人的厚臉皮，使出渾身解數，軟硬兼施⋯當台北航警登機後要求女領隊落機時，她竟然在機門前詐病並跪地近30分鐘，期望機長收回成命。” 最終弄了一場鬧劇，賠了夫人又撤兵，貽笑大方。我們的工作崗位於安全意識一環是認真嚴肅有秩序的，無論任何一位乘客的行為舉止言語令空中服務員不安、受威脅，我們會因循程度作出不同的警告、行動，以免影響航機運作，騷擾其他乘客的安全及權利，亦確保機組人員的情緒及自身安全。飲醉酒、性騷擾、吸煙、喧嘩、拒絕配合安全要求、破壞機上儀器運作、粗言穢言、碰撞動武、騷擾其他乘客，一經發現，我們會循程度作出所需行動。

The innovative e-commerce platform

I recently attended the Echelon Tech Conference 2014 held in Singapore. It is the largest gathering of investors, venture capitalists, private equity funds, incubators and creative entrepreneurs from all over Asia who are passionate about creating and discovering the next generation of disruptive businesses that will change the status quo of business models. The event attracted big guns including representatives from Google, Twitter and AirBnB. Eduardo Saverin, one of the original five co-founders of Facebook, was spotted scouting around the show.

風險與機遇

公司兩年多前在西藏拉薩承接了一所五星級酒店工程，派出一支團隊到拉薩長駐兩年，願意去高原工作的，多半抱著順道到處遊歷的心態，玩夠了支撐不住便要求調職或干脆辭職。項目後半期從成都來了位年青貌美、活潑開朗的文員，大學時讀的是室內設計，本來不怪，到拉薩玩嘛。後來業主裝飾部向她招手，待遇及工作性質都較現職優勝，就是不去留在不對口的機電公司當文員。當時心想天下有如此怪事？後來恍然大悟，原來美女看中公司年青工程師。此工程師才高八斗，是近年少見的能人。兩情相悅，互相傾慕，本是好事，但情事被上海家中兩老發現，要求青年斷絶交往，項目結束後回上海找對象。青年情急，向女友表白情況，美女當天收拾細軟，第二天立即飛回家。常言道：「婚姻是戀愛的墳墓，沒有婚姻的愛情是死無葬身之地 !」這對戀人之後各找「墓地」去。青年本可抱得美人歸，很明顯在這危急時機，沒有準備好，幸事成了憾事。機遇有個孖生兄弟 – 風險。若眼前不是吊着棵紅蘿蔔，那會勇往直前挺而走險。生活中常遇風險，選擇結婚對象、轉往更好的工作、接受新任務新挑戰，都存在對美好未來的憧憬。不知是你判斷力差還是配偶的假身技術好，婚結了後總覺得貨不對辦，但為時已晚，只能長嗟短嘆，黙黙承受。

最佳調解員

近幾年有一個新興行業～調解員！電視廣告也常有推廣。調解是一種協調和解糾紛的有系統效率的過程，通過調解員的輔助，以中立，不偏不倚的態度協助促進矛盾雙方商議，強調雙方的自願性、自主性、保密性3大特點，從而協商一個大家都比較滿意可接受的方案，有效率地解決問題，既節省時間、金錢又可保密。我上月便請了二個星期Annual Leave 報讀了由HKU SPACE 開辦的調解實務課程，主講導師為鄭會圻先生及副導師Jody Sin 大律師，他們都是香港調解的先驅，專業的權威。我完成了40小時的講授及角色演習課程，獲益良多，增進了不少學識也擴闊了生活圈子。導師在課堂上說空姐通常很有潛質做調解員，想想也對⋯⋯我們每班航機接觸三百多人，和十多種不同國籍的空姐合作共事⋯⋯大家來自五湖四海，文化差異，觀點態度、服務要求各有不同，需要一些溝通技巧的配合以避免、調和經常發生的誤會、矛盾甚至投訴。分享一些飛機上處理問題的個案例子～How May I best to assist you？

商場上變幻莫測，你的對手在變，顧客的口味也在變。創新的市場策略能讓你出奇制勝，突圍而出，但所謂的創意及 ‘new ideas’ 又從何而來？要解決這個問題不用找專家高手，或者在你眼前那杯檸茶裡一片片的檸檬就已能給你一點啟示。一提起檸檬，不少人都有「一定╱絕對」的心態。檸檬「一定」係黃色及橢圓形，味道「絕對」係酸澀的。做marketing的人若硬抱這種諗法，對著所有的產品都以「一定係咁做」的墨守成規心態，「一定」必死無疑。試想若當年賣牛奶的公司認為牛奶就係牛奶，一定係一樽一樽賣，沒有其他可能的話，那麼我們今日怎可能有紙包牛奶、朱古力及水果味牛奶、奶粉、牛奶糖、忌廉溝鮮奶，甚至高鈣低脂奶？還記得多年前某一間新的巴士公司開始營運初期就用上了嶄新的推廣手法，相對於傳統及一般會扣減車資或回贈等推廣方式，他們卻贈送新鮮早餐及報紙，成為一時佳話。

The most commonly asked ‘first’ question in a job interview

根據多項調查研究，見工面試的頭五分鐘往往已決定了求職者是否得到面試官的信任，故此怎樣回答第一條問題更形重要。如果表現理想，能給對方一個良好的印象，同時也增加自信。以下和大家談談最常見的第一個問題，就是：‘Tell me about yourself.’ 可從兩方面回答：第一是關於自己的資歷、工作能力或專長等，第二是你可以為公司帶來甚麼？自己的資歷和專長首先可簡要地介紹你的資歷和工作上的專長，讓面試官對你有初步的認識。請看一例：I got a diploma in hotel and tourism management from ABC University. I have been working as a front desk officer in DEF hotel for three years. I have developed my practical skills in hotel industry, and know how to deal with different types of people. I love to help people, enjoy meeting new friends. I’m hardworking and don’t mind working long hours. 如果現在沒有工作的話，可綜合描述工作上的專長。

面試應對策略 ── 「自信」還是「自滿」

有讀者詢問有些求職專家建議在見工面試時，不應過於自大或誇張，以免令面試官覺得你自滿或言過其實。相反的一派則認為要表現出自信，才可留給對方積極正面的印象。究竟我們應該怎樣取捨呢？筆者覺得這是一個非常好的問題，也是面試的重要策略( interview strategy )。首先，我們要認清見工面試的目標是得到這份工作，並不是要和對方辯論，取得勝利，而是要說服面試官你是擔任這份工作的最佳人選( the best candidate )。因此，工作的性質和要求( nature and requirements of the job )至為關鍵。列舉事實，證明論點例如工作要求具備流利英語，你可以說：‘I am good at English and I’ve won the prizes in many English speech contests.’這是自信的表現，也用了事實來證明。最好能結合工作要求：‘And so, I believe I can handle the requests from customers who speak English.’
