Should I stay put in Hong Kong or return to Brexit Britain?

I work in business development for a private equity (PE) firm and I have about six months left on a three-year contract in Hong Kong, after which I am supposed to return to the UK branch. While my return should see me take a step up the career ladder, business has been good in Hong Kong and I’ve been getting negative vibes from people back home about deal pipelines following the Brexit vote. Now I’m not sure whether to return to the UK on my arranged career path, or try and negotiate to stay in the HK branch – or even move to another PE firm here. Are you seeing similar jitters from finance professionals with moves to the UK planned and if so, what’s the smart move?
